DESCRIPTION:Vivian Yanzhe Yu is a pianist and composer based in Chicago. Vivian is trained in the classical music tradition with a fondness for electronics and ambient soundscapes. Her approach towards music is the free-flowing and seamlessly blending both the electronics and acoustic together. Vivian is also a member of the Power Ambient Duo Magick Potion. \n  \nVivian’s piano works are lyrical narratives that exercise in structure\, emotional exploration and storytelling. In her electronic work\, Vivian shapes sound through hardware\, frequency modulation\, weaving melodic phrasing with dark\, edgy synth and noise to build an sonically immersive environment where the listeners could freely go wherever their imagination takes them.\nIn this evenings program\, Vivian will share her piano compositions from the album ‘The Unquiet Heart’.  And also share some of her not yet released works. Then she will transition into the sphere of dark electronic music to take you to another place. So please come comfortable and join her in an intimate evening of musical exploration at Narloch Piano Studio.

They have premiered numerous works to date\, and have been featured at the International Clarinet Association ClarinetFest\, the Sewanee Summer Music Festival\, the Music Teachers National Association Convention\, and in classrooms across America. 10th & Broadway is deeply committed to leading performances and chamber music workshops at educational institutions\, community centers\, and religious centers in an effort to educate fresh audiences and inspire future generations.
